Internal Medicine for Adults

A Full Internal Medicine Practice For Patients Age 16 And Older.

Mesquite Motley Clinic provides adult primary care and internal medicine for patients age 16 and older.

Adult Primary Care and Internal Medicine

This is the everyday work of internal medicine. The practice provides ongoing care for the conditions that most often shape adult life, including high blood pressure, diabetes and prediabetes, high cholesterol, thyroid disease, asthma and other respiratory disease, sleep apnea, and the cardiovascular and metabolic conditions that develop with age. Mental health concerns are addressed by the same physician, alongside physical health. Hormonal care, including menopausal management and testosterone therapy, and routine women's and men's health are also part of primary care here.

Complex Medical Cases Requiring Diagnosis

Care is offered for adult patients whose symptoms have not been explained, whose diagnosis does not fit the clinical picture, or whose treatment has not produced the expected result. The work involves a careful review of prior testing and history, additional evaluation as indicated, and coordination with specialists when appropriate.

Cancer Prevention and Screening

The clinic orders and coordinates age-appropriate cancer screening, including colorectal screening for adults and breast and cervical cancer screening for women. Screening recommendations are tailored to personal and family history.

Weight Management and Weight Loss

Weight management is a long-term process. Care begins with diet and activity changes and may include prescription weight-loss medication when clinically appropriate.

Medication Reduction

Medication reduction is a careful review of an adult patient's complete medication list, with the goal of identifying prescriptions that may no longer be necessary. Many adults accumulate medications over the years; safe deprescribing can reduce side effects and simplify daily life.

Opioid and Alcohol Use Disorder Treatment

The clinic treats opioid use disorder and alcohol use disorder. Care includes evaluation, medical management, support during withdrawal, and supervised tapering of medications that are no longer needed.

Medically Supervised Fasting

Fasting protocols are available for weight management and metabolic health. Intervals and laboratory monitoring are tailored to each patient.

Second Opinions

A second opinion is an independent review of a diagnosis or treatment plan that has been recommended elsewhere. It is appropriate before a major medical decision, when a diagnosis has not held up over time, or when a patient simply wants another physician's perspective.

Expanded Consultation Time

Visit length is determined jointly by the patient and the physician.

Buprenorphine Prescribing

Buprenorphine is a prescription medication used in the treatment of opioid use disorder. The clinic offers buprenorphine treatment as part of ongoing primary care, so that opioid use disorder is addressed alongside the patient's other medical conditions rather than in a separate setting. Care includes evaluation, induction, and ongoing medication management.
